Thought of the Day
My baby boy is 1 today!! Its hard to believe that it has already been a year. We started the day off by singing Happy Birthday and having a donut for breakfast. We are having a cookout and party this afternoon.

My Shopping Trip to Save-a-Lot
Precious at Frugal makes Cents shared that Save a Lot had Butterball Turkey Bacon on sale for $1. She uses this often so she stocked up. I have never tried turkey bacon and I had 2 coupons so I thought I would try it at this price.

My Shopping Trip to Food Lion
Food Lion is having a 3-day sale on Huggies this weekend. They have them on sale for $7.99 a pack. I had 2 coupons that would be expiring soon so I wanted to use them before they expired.
Here is what I purchased:
2 Packs of Huggies - $7.99 = $15.98

Total OOP - $11.98 (not as cheap as I usually get them but I was on my last pack)

My Shopping Trip to Staples
Today was my day to run errands and finish picking up items for Bryson's birthday party tomorrow. My baby boy is turning 1. I stopped in Staples to take advantage of the $3 coupon that I posted earlier this week.
Here is what I purchased:
1 Dry Erase Board - $1
1 Note Pad - $1
1 Pack of Mini Legal Pads - $1
Total - $3
Used $3 coupon
Total OOP - 0.00 - They didn't even charge me tax!
I am going to add a couple of these items to Payton's rainy/day bored bag or save them for stocking stuffers. A notepad and a pen keeps her occupied for hours.

Ways I Saved/Earned Money This Week
- I read all of my MyPoints emails daily for my account and my husband's to add points to receive FREE gift cards.
- No grocery shopping this week except for milk and produce.
- Had leftovers for lunch 3 days this week. No food wasted and money saved by not cooking something else.
- Cleaned out my coupon binder and filed new coupons for future shopping trips.
- Compared gas prices online before filling up so I could get the lowest price.
- DH went back to work on Tuesday. He had been out of work for 2 weeks since he had knee surgery. I'm glad he is going well and I'm back on my regular schedule with the kids.
- Used FREE dishwasher detergent samples this week when using the dishwasher.
- Continued to use my FREE samples this week - shampoo, conditioner, lotion.
- Trying to drink more water. Not only is this good for me but it will also be a great way to say money.
- Did a couple of sponsored posts as a way to earn some extra cash.
- Planning shopping trips for today and tomorrow. I am pulling my coupons and heading to Staples, Dollar General, Save-a-Lot, Lowes Foods, and Food Lion.
- Still planning Bryson's 1st birthday party for Saturday. Using lots of things that I already have.
- Received a $35 refund check from dr's office after insurance finished paying.
- Cashed in Rhythm and Race Points at Dollar General for a $5 gift card.

I'm Bored/Rainy Day Bag of Thrifty Things for Payton
It finally happened......I heard I'm bored from Payton for the 1st time yesterday. I can remember saying this to my mom when I was growing up. She would always try to help me find something to do.
While Payton was eating breakfast this morning, I put together a I'm Bored/Rainy Day bag. I always pulled items from birthday party goody bags, Easter baskets, and stocking stuffers to put back as little prizes. I always pick up items at the Dollar Tree or clearance racks to save for surprises. This morning I went through my box of goodies and pulled items together and placed them in a bag. The bag consists of items that can be done inside and some for outside.
- play dough
- bubble gun
- activity book (she loves to do these)
- craft items
- sidewalk chalk
- kids veggie pots
- a sprinkler
The next rainy day or the next time I hear I'm bored, I will be prepared. She will have to close her eyes and pull out a prize.
Hopefully, she will enjoy it and I know it will in handy!

Verizon FIOS - Making Moms Life a Little Easier
As a stay-at-home mom of 2 little ones, anything that makes my life a little easier is great. I am constantly looking for ways to make things I enjoy a little bit more enjoyable. Between being a mom, a wife, and a blogger any free time I have I like to watch certain TV shows. Verizon would make a couple of things for me a lot easier.
- Flex View is a great offer from Verizon FiOS TV. It never fails when I want to watch a movie, I can never watch the whole thing without pausing or stopping it. Being a mom, you never know what your children will need. I can get both of them in bed and asleep and turn a movie on and its like alarm clock goes. One if not both of them wake up every time. With Flex View you can buy, rent and watch on-demand video titles on your FiOS TV, on your computer or on your mobile phone. This would be great for moms. I know it would come in handy for me.
- Since I am a blogger, I love to communicate with my readers and friends on twitter. Verizon TV widgets which allow you to access twitter, facebook, and youtube directly from your TV. I would be able to tweet from my remote control while watching TV. What more could a person ask for?
- DVR - I have a DVR now and don't think I would be able to live without it. It is one the greatest things ever invented. I love that I can record my favorite shows and be able to watch them when it is convenient for me. I also love that I have movies recorded and I am able to access them whenever my husband and I want to have an "at-home date". This way we already have what we need for a movie night.
-Lastly, Verizon FiOS TV was rated #1 in value, overall quality and customer loyalty, according to the 2010 American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) Survey for the largest subscription TV service providers. Nothing is more frustrating than terrible customer service. I don't understand why companies think they can continue to keep their customers if their customer service is not reliable. I don't like paying a company for a service and have problems with that service and not be able to get a solution.
