Finally Friday
Wohooooooo its Friday!!! Its been a rocky week for me with a sick baby but hopefully the weekend will be better. The only thing I would love to do right now is sleep. Have a great weekend and I'll be back Monday with something new for my blog!!

Thoughtful Thursday.....UPDATE!!
I just got back from the doctor and Payton has a chest, throat, and head infection. They gave her cough medicine and an antibiotic. Hopefully, this will get her on the road to recovery.
Today I am going to be selfish and ask and that you send all your thoughts and best wishes my way. My 21 month old daughter Payton still has a terrible head and chest cold. This has been going on for a week now and she isn't getting any better if not a little worse. I was up watching cartoons this morning from 1am to 3:30am. She coughed the whole time. I am taking her to the doctor this morning. Hopefully, he will give me some miracle medicine.

Thrifty Hobbies
I love to read but ever since I had my daughter I haven't picked up the first book until the week I was on vacation. I read 3 books during my week at the coast and 1 since I have been home. Since I work full-time, I feel like any time I have to read should be spent with Payton. I have now started to read every night when I go to bed. Now only do I enjoy it, but I have found that it helps me fall asleep faster.
I just went to the library today and picked up 3 more by some of my favorite authors. The library is such a wonderful place. Free books for anyone. My favorite authors are Fern Michaels, Mary Higgins Clark, Sandra Brown, and Carol Higgins Clark. A great friend and a frequent blog visitor, Shannon, told me about a website she was referred to the last time she was at the library http://www.literature-map.com/. You enter in your favorite author and it recommends other authors who write the "same" type book. Check it out!

Snow Cones
My husband loves snow cones. A childhood favorite that he still loves. He found a ice shaver at Wal-Mart a couple of summers ago on clearance for $5. We have used it a few times for making drinks or making a soda icee but this summer we have made great snow cones. We have purchased a couple of the snow cone syrups but kool-aid works great too. If you happen to catch one on sale, buy it. The kids will love it and the grown ups too. Crush your ice and add your favorite flavoring.

Multi-Uses for Cotton Swabs
I have always been told not to use Q-Tips to clean your ears but I do every day with alcohol. No problems, so far. Below is some other great uses that I have found.1) Use to light candles with hard to reach candle wicks.
2) Q-tips dipped in alcohol to clean electronic items - computer keyboards.
3) Clean hard to reach areas - water faucets, around the sill of sinks.
4) Use to place glue on small items when crafting.
5) Use to clean up nail polish goofs.
6) Clean mud/dirt out of the bottom of shoe soles.
7) Use to clean the screen in our cold water hose on our washing machine --- my husbands favorite use.
