That the second article that I have read recently that put people to a test to spend poverty level amounts on food. The one thing I don't understand why is it assumed that poor people can't use coupons? Do the writers of these articles believe that they are too stupid to figure out how they work? It is not like you have to purchase a paper to get coupons. Stores give them away in their pamphlets at the entrance of the store and at their pharmacies. You can request to have them at libraries and if you are desperate, you can go to a paper recycling bin and get them. It is possible to live well on $100 a week with a little strategic planning and coupons.
I completely agree. I have a family of 3 and we manage to make it on a $75 budget for groceries, hygiene products, and that includes diapers. I am an avid coupon user and don't understand why more people don't use coupons. To me its like getting free money.
