How Do I Use My Samsung Galaxy S4

How did I survive without my Samsung Galaxy S4 phone??  That is a question that I ask myself often.  I had no idea what I had been missing before I received this phone.

From the first day I received my phone, I have been nothing but impressed.  It has become my personal assistant. I constantly have my phone with me whether I am on the go or at home.  I love the size of the phone.  It is so easy to view and type on.   Here is an explanation of how it makes my life so much easier.

- Calendar - I use the calendar daily for everything.  I recorded my appointments, schedule reminders, friends and families birthdays, and for blog post ideas.

- Camera - The camera on my Samsung Galaxy S4 takes wonderful pictures.  The picture quality is so much better than the camera that I have.  I have enjoyed having one thing to take along with me with everything available that I need.

- Video Camera - With two young children, you never know when you will want to capture the moment on video.  I have enjoyed having the video camera.

- Email - Being able to check my email no matter where I am is wonderful.  I have been able to open all documents, respond to emails, and take advantage of offers when it has been a first come first serve basis. 

- Internet - I love having the internet at my fingertips whenever I need it.  I have used it to compare prices when shopping, checking the weather radar, stay up to date on breaking news, and post on my blog when I am not at home on my laptop.

- Calculator - Its great to have a calculator when shopping to stay on budget.  I have also used to check receipts, figure discounts, and balance my checkbook.

- Facebook - I have shared my "Better Moments" of summer with my friends and family.  I love being able to share pictures of my children with my family at any moment. 

- Pinterest - Hi!  My name is Maria and I am addicted to Pinterest.  The Pinterest app is my all time favorite.  I love browsing Pinterest.  You never know what great idea you will find next.

Allens Celebrates National Vegetarian Awareness Week with Photo Contest

National Vegetarian Awareness Week is September 8 - September 15.  Allens wants to elevate awareness about Vegetarian Awareness and promote more vegetarian meals and a healthier lifestyle. 

To celebrate, Allens, one of the largest privately held vegetable companies in the nation, is holding a photo contest where vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike across the United States.

Allens will heighten awareness of a vegetarian lifestyle with consumers by asking consumers to go vegetarian for one week with Allens; sharing their vegetarian photos via email and social media (Instagram, FB, Twitter and Pinterest) of their vegetarian meals. Consumers who share will be selected randomly throughout the week to win free a week of free Allens products (5 winners in total- 5 vouchers each).

Consumers can send a photo via email or post it on Facebook, Allens Instagram, Twitter or Pinterest and if they do so they will be considered to win free veggies for a week (5 vouchers).

Back to School Open House - I Didn't Know I Was Expected to Spend Money

Last week, we went to open house at Payton's school.   This will be her second year in school.   She began 1st grade this morning.


I was amazed at how much money I could have spent at open house.  At that time, school had not even started.  Most parents had already purchased school supplies, clothes, shoes, backpacks, lunchboxes etc.   That in itself can be a huge dent in most families budget especially if you have one or more kids in school. 

There was a brief meeting before parents and children could visit their classrooms and meet their teachers.   Within 10 minutes, I was asked to spend a total of $46.

Prepay Lunch for 1 Week - $10

Yearbook - $20

Book Fair - Asked to buy your child a book and donate one to your childs classroom -  The cheapest one I have ever seen is $4 each = $8

NEW School T-shirts - $8

Total - $46


I just wish they could have at least wait until school started before parents were expected to spend money.
