Finally Friday
What could be better than a 3 day weekend?? The sun has finally returned today which always seems to put a smile on my face. The weather this weekend should be nice. I plan to have a cookout and enjoy some play time outside with Payton. The annual Hillsville Flea Market is this weekend and we always go. I can't wait. I always enjoy going and finding some great buys. What do yo have planned?

What a Wonderful Wednesday
What a great way to start the day............. I was on my way to work, pouring rain, running a few minutes late AND my engine light comes on and I lose power. I quickly start to panic and then it stops. I breathe a sigh of relief and it starts again. All I could picture was me and Payton sitting on the side of the road in the pouring rain. I immediately start praying.......... please just let me get to the Nissan place AND I made it. Whewwwww!!
I'm sure I will have a nice little unexpected BIG bill but I guess it could be worse.

Kitchen Tip -- Clean Microwave
Place 2 halves of a lemon on a plate, cut side down. Add a little water, microwave on high for one minute and clean. Works great.

Club-Inspired Potato Salad
For all those end of summer cook-outs, give this a try. It is really good but then again I haven't had a pasta salad that I didn't like. I made this last weekend and I forgot to take a picture before we ate.
Club-Inspired Potato Salad
2 Cups Quartered Small Red Potatoes
1/2 Cup Water
1/2 Cup Miracle Whip Salad Dressing
6 Slices of Bacon, Cut Into Bite Size Pieces
1 Cup Three Cheese Crumbles
2 Green Onions, Sliced
2 Cups Cherry Tomatoes, Halved
Place potatoes in a 2 quart microwable casserole dish. Add Water. Microwave on High 6 to 8 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Let stand 5 mins and drain. Rinse with cold water. Drain again.
Combine dressing, bacon, cheese and onions and mix lightly with potatoes and tomatoes.
Serve immediately or refrigerate and serve later.

The NC Zoo - Our 1st Trip
What a perfect day we had. The weather was wonderful. The zoo was not crowded. For a 22 month old, Payton was wonderful. Not even a whine or a cry all day. Payton enjoyed the animals but the giraffe was her favorite. Below is a couple of pictures and I will post more in the future.

In the compartments I have nails, thumb tacks, picture holders, and a tape measure. I have also seen antique tool boxes used for desk organizers to hold notepads, pens, paper clips, stamps etc.
