I finally made it to Lowes Foods today. I sure could tell that today was day 3 of triple coupon days. The shelves were bare in several places. I think I did very well considering I also purchased 2 packs of boneless chicken, 6 2-liters and 5 items without coupons.

Total Before Coupons - $70.66

Lowes Card Savings - ($ 18.57)

Coupon Savings - ($ 21.65)

OOP Total - $ 30.44

FINALLY FRIDAY

I'm so glad today is FRIDAY!! Payton is sick again! I was out of work yesterday and I took a break from my blog to try and nurse her back to health. Hopefully, she will improve over the weekend.

Our annual Autumn Leaves Festival is taking place this weekend. We always go and enjoy the food, people, and browse the booths for great deals. I ususally find some gifts for Christmas. Hopefully, Payton will be feeling well enough to go Saturday.

Thrifty Idea for Personal Organization

I finally found what I was looking for..... Over the weekend, I purchased this notebook as a filler item for $3.19 at CVS. (I actually got it for less than that with my coupons.) The picture shows a 7" x 5" but I got a 9.5" x 6.5". The notebook includes a double pocket on the inside to hold notes which is exactly what I have been looking for.

My purse had become a coupon/note/grocery list mess. I have now cleaned my purse out and listed all my notes for my blog, my grocery list, and made my Christmas list in my new favorite notebook.

It was well worth the money to me and I feel so organized having everything in one place.

Tasty Tuesday - Baked Potato Soup

This is one of my favorites.

Ingredients:
2/3 Cup of Butter
2/3 Cup of Flour
7 Cups of Milk
4 Large Baking Potatoes (I use Frozen Shredded Potatoes)
4 Green Onions, Thinly sliced
10 to 12 Strips of Bacon, Cooked, Drained, and Crumbled
1-1/4 Cups of Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1 Cup of Sour Cream
Salt
Pepper

Directions:
Melt butter over low heat. Stir in flour until smooth and bubbly. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly, until thickened. Add potatoes and onion. Continue to cook, stirring constantly until soup begins to bubble. Reduce heat, simmer for 10 minutes. Add remain ingredients; stir until cheese is melted.

I always serve the bacon on top of my bowl of soup along with some cheese.

-Use as a paint palet
