Cut Your Cell Phone Bill in Half with STRAIGHT TALK

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Straight Talk for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Feel Richer with Android

Having a cell phone has become a necessity for almost everyone.  I do not know 1 single person who doesn't have one.  I use to have a cell phone just for security when traveling, especially with 2 small kids, but today I use it not only to make calls but also for texting, emails, and the web.

As a person who is constantly trying to find ways to save money, I love the idea that I feel richer with Straight Talk because I cut my cell phone bill in half. You have to be crazy to be on a contract these days when you can get everything you need without one.  There are no contracts, no surprise bills and no credit checks. Great nationwide coverage and excellent reception/connectivity. Finally, Straight Talk only uses trusted phone manufacturers like LG, Motorola, Kyocera, Nokia and Samsung.

The power of Android

The “All You Need Plan” meets even the needs of heavy phone users with 1,000 minutes, 1,000 texts and 30 MB of web data. Unlimited Monthly service is only $45, and includes calls, text, picture messaging, and web.  411 calls are included at no extra charge.

Reconditioned phones are available from $10.00 with camera, mp3 player, mobile web access, and blue-tooth capability. Great for young users!

Real Moms Love to Eat

As a mom, I am the one who will influence my childrens eating habits more than anyone else.   The number one thing that influences them is my eating habits.  I noticed more and more with every day that my daughter is trying to pick up some of my bad habits so now is the perfect time to change them.

One of my biggest problems is emotional eating.  I think lots of us have this problem.  Comfort food is something I always turn toin a 'bad" time.  The comfort food I turn to is not always healthy.

In the book, Real Moms Love to Eat, the author Beth Aldrich addresses just that.  Just making simple changes in your diet will have a greater impact in your life than you think.

The book is written in a mom-to-mom conversational tone, with friendly advice and recommendations. It’s divided into three sections, which include a fun and easy-to-follow 10-part plan for moms to implement to make gradual, life-long changes in their approach to food and 21 days of meal suggestions, tips, recipes and lifestyle exercises—all to help you continue your love affair with food to look fabulous. Beth’s approach to healthy eating, losing weight and feeling fabulous, is simple and realistic for busy moms. You’ll learn a lot about the food you eat and how it impacts your body and still have loads of fun experiencing new foods and enjoying life.

Beth has a Food Affairiate program for her book for bloggers.  If you are interested in receiving a digital copy now and reviewing her book, you can find all the details here.

Disney on Ice - Time to Dream Review

Last night was girls night out!  We went to Disney on Ice - Time to Dream at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte.  It was opening night.  I got to spend the evening with a good friend of mine, Cinderella and Snow White.  Payton dressed up was Snow White and her friend Grace dressed up as Cinderella.  They were very excited to go.  It was Grace's frist trip to Disney on Ice and she can't wait to go again.

There is nothing better than seeing the excitement in a childs eye when they see the Disney characters they love.  They loved spending the evening with princesses.  Each one has their favorite and they got to see them all.   The show was fantastic.

Here is a few pictures from the show.

Snow White

Cinderella's Ball

Rapunzel

If you have a chance to go, you won't be disappointed. We are already looking forward to next years show.

Tinyprints Christmas Cards

Christmas will be here before you know it, 79 days until Christmas.  Now is a great time to start planning and organizing for the Holiday season.  One thing I was always try to do early is order my Christmas cards.  I always include a picture of my kids on my Christmas card.  Tinyprints has a great selection of cards to choose from.

I love to receive Christmas cards with family pictures or kids pictures.  It is a great way of sharing a photo with friends and family that you don't get to see often.  I save the photo cards and place them in a photo album.  I label each page with the year.  I love to browse through my albums and look at how my family or friends have grown and changed from year to year.

After browsing the great cards Tinyprints has to offer, I chose the one above as my favorite.  With 2 kids I will be able to share a picture of each child alone and pictures of them together.  If you like this card and would love to browse all of the Christmas cards Tinyprints has to offer, you can find them here.

Disclaimer:  In exchange for this review, I will receive 50 FREE Christmas cards from Tinyprints.  No other compensation was exchanged   My opinions are my own.

Tinyprints is looking for bloggers interested in featuring their Christmas or holiday cards in exchange for 50 cards from the 2011 line.  For further information and to sign up click here.

Ragu Mom's The Word - $20 Visa Card Giveaway

As Moms, deciding whats for dinner can be challenging sometimes.  You have so many factors in deciding what to cook.  Some kids can be very picky eaters and husbands too.  Most moms would agree that spaghetti is a meal that almost everyone will eat.  It is a favorite dish in my house and I use Ragú® Old World Style® Traditional pasta sauce to prepare it.

"Mom's the Word on Dinner," an online community from Ragú® where moms go to laugh, learn and share their take on what really happens at dinnertime. Whether you need some advice on getting your picky eater to chow down on veggies or just want to vent about last night's dinner disaster - this is the place where you can do it all!

With the help of some of the fabulous ladies of Momversation™, the Mom's the Word on Dinner community has featured various videos, photos, polls and dinner ideas with quick and easy recipes since its inception. Starting August 9^th, you can tune in to the latest video and join the conversation about the compromises we make when dinner gets tough! One of the great tips you'll learn is from parenting expert and author, Dr. Michele Borba, who says "Give a little leeway. You can use compromise as a tactic to your favor, e.g.: 'Do you want to eat your spaghetti or salad first?' 'Do you want your vegetables cooked or raw?' Just offer choices that you feel comfortable with."

Tips for De-Cluttering and Organizing Your Kids Toys

Who would have ever thought that 2 small kids could have so many toys?  How fortunate they are to have so many but some days I feel like they have taken over the whole house.  I try to keep them restricted to certain areas but that doesn't always work.  You never know where you will find a toy in my house.  I even found a truck on the shelf in the refrigerator yesterday.  Not sure how that got there without me seeing them to that.

Keeping toys de-cluttered and organized is something that me and my kids do together.  We try to organized at least once month.  Not only does it keep the toys organized but also helps my kids refresh their memory on everything they have.  My daughter seems to forget that she has certain things and she will sometimes ask for them again.

Below is a list of tips I use when de-cluttering and organizing my kids toys:

1) Try to keep all similar items together.  For example, all of their books are together on a shelf and I have all barbies together in a container.

2) Provide small bags or boxes to keep toys in with lots of small parts.  I really enforce this with my daughter since my son is only 1 and the small parts always end up in his mouth.

3) Organize toys in a way that it is easy for your kids to put them away.  I use toy baskets, toy , storage containers, and small boxes to storage items in.

4) Throw away damaged/broken toys or "junk" toys.  It amazes me the amount of "junk" toys that we accumulate.  These are things that you get at fast food restaurants or miscellaneous items they bring home from grandmas.

5) When organizing, gather up toys that your children have outgrown or no longer play with.  Save them for a yard sale or donate them to Goodwill or Salvation Army.

6) Do a Large Declutter around Christmas.  I do this every year to make room for all the toys they get from Santa, grandparents and family.  This way you will have enough room to organize all their new toys.

By organizing and de-cluttering once a month, it never takes me long to go through my kids toys.  I try to stay on schedule to prevent me from having to spend a long period of time organizing and de-cluttering.  This way I will have more time to play with my kids.
