Couponing for Community - Today is the last day!!

I added 31 items to the goal tracker for Couponing for Community!!  I hope everyone has waited until today to add their totals.  The totals this year are low compared to last year.  Couponing for Community was even featured on the Huffington Post this week.  You can find the article here.

Visit the Couponing for Community Facebook page and add your totals.  You can also share a picture if you would like.

Couponing for Community Week - This Week

Couponing for Community kicks off this week (May 6-12)! Thousands of couponers nation-wide are using our coupon skills to make a united effort to GIVE to a local food bank, rescue mission or friend in need.

Once you've made your donation, you can head over and enter your total number of items donated on the 'See Our Progress' tab beginning on Sunday, May 6.

We'd also LOVE to see pictures of your donations on the C4C Facebook wall. If you are able to add a sign to the picture with the number of items donated and location being given, we'd love to see the locations where our giving is taking place across the country.

Don't forget that Saturday, May 12 is also National Stamp Out Hunger day, so giving can be as simple as leaving a bag of non-perishable items by your mailbox that morning.
Our goal this year is 30,000 items donated in one week's time. With your help, we know it's going to be BIG!

Reminder - Couponing for Community - May 6 - 12, 2012

It's that time again!  Last year, I participated in Couponing for Community and donated over 100 items to my local food pantry.  I plan to participate again this year and I hope you will join in and donate too.

Couponing for Community is an effort by couponers all over America to use the power of couponing to make a united immpact.  Join this community of couponers by using your coupoing skills to give to a homeless shelter, food pantry or a friend in need during the week of May 6-12, 2012.  May 12 is also National Stamp Out Hunger Day.  Giving is as easy as leaving a bag of non-perishable items by your mailbox.

In 2010, 3000 items were donated by couponers nationwide.

In 2011, 127 bloggers promoted the cause and 26,649 items were donated.

This year the goal is even bigger - the goal is 30,000 items.

Track your giving during the week of May 6-12 and then share your story and pictures on the Couponing for Community Facebook page. 


To participate:

- Get all of the details on Couponing for Community Facebook page.  You will also be able to see everyone who is partipating.

- As you shop over the next few weeks, set aside items to donate.  Keep a tab of all items you plan to donate along with pictures.

- If you have a blog, write a post and spread the word about Couponing for Community.  Then submit your post on the Join Us tab.

I already have a few items set aside that I purchased this week.  Join me in Couponing for Community and lets meet the goal of 30,000 items for 2012.

I have been gathering my items to donate.  I first went through my stockpile and pulled items out to donate.  I have picked up a few extra items in the past few weeks while couponing shopping.  I have also set aside $20 to purchase more items this week by using coupons.

Couponing for Community - May 8 - 14, 2011

This year I will be participating in the Couponing for Community where Saving and Giving Unite.  This will be my first year to participate but it sounds like a wonderful thing.  

Couponing for Community is an effort by couponers all over America to use the power of couponing to make a united impact. By using your couponing skills start buying extra items each week while you are shopping to give to a homeless shelter, food pantry, or a friend in need during the week of May 8-14, 2011! May 14 is also National Stamp Out Hunger day, so giving is as easy as leaving a bag of non-perishable items by your mailbox

Couponing for Community has set a goal of 10,000 items to be donated in 1 week.

Also, this is a great thing to get your kids involved in.  I'm trying to teach my daughter (4 years old) that it is better to give than to receive and that not everyone is as fortunate as she is.  I look forward to her taking part in this too.
