Multi-Use Items to Clean Computer Keyboard

I would recommend do the following with your computer turned OFF.

1) Place a placemat, paper, etc over your keyboard to prevent attracting dust.

2) Pencil Eraser - Use a clean eraser to wipe gunk off the keys.

3) Cotton Swabs - Swipe between keys to remove dust.

4) Makeup Brush - Swipe between keys to remove dust.

5) Rubbing Alcohol - Dampen a cloth with alcohol and wipe surfaces to remove grime and clean your keyboard. ( I do this often and it works great.) Do not pour alcohol directly onto the keyboard.

Spray on Weeds Instead of Harsh Chemicals. I tried this and it does work great.

Multi-Use Items - 2 Liter Bottle

Anyone who drinks soda can have extra 2 liter bottles. There are several things that they can be repurposed for.

- I use them to make juice in for Payton.

- I also have several in the freezer filled with water.

- Used as ice packs

- Use to make lots of crafts, birdfeeders, piggy banks etc.

What other ways to you use 2 liter bottles?

DRYER SHEETS

1. It will chase ants away when you lay a sheet near them. It also repels mice.

2. Spread sheets around foundation areas, or in trailers, or cars that are sitting and it keeps mice from entering your vehicle.

3. It takes the odor out of books and photo albums that don't get opened too often.

4. It repels mosquitoes. Tie a sheet of Bounce through a belt loop when outdoors during mosquito season.

5. Eliminate static electricity from your television (or computer) screen.

6. Since dryer sheets is designed to help eliminate static cling, wipe your television screen with a used sheet to keep dust from resettling.

7. Dissolve soap scum from shower doors. Clean with a dryer sheet.

8. To freshen the air in your home - Place an individual sheet in a drawer or hang in the closet.

9. Put in vacuum cleaner.

10. Prevent thread from tangling, run a threaded needle through a sheet before beginning to sew.

11. Prevent musty suitcases. Place an individual sheet inside empty luggage before storing.

12. Clean baked-on foods from a cooking pan. Put a sheet in a pan, fill with water, let sit overnight, and sponge clean.. The anti-static agent apparently weakens the bond between the food and the pan.

13. Eliminate odors in wastebaskets, Place a sheet at the bottom of the wastebasket.

14. Collect cat hair. Rubbing the area with a sheet will magnetically attract all the lose hairs.

15. Eliminate static electricity from Venetian blinds. Wipe the blinds with a sheet to prevent dust from resettling.

16. Wipe up sawdust from drilling or sand papering. A used sheet will collect sawdust like a tack cloth.

17. Eliminate odors in dirty laundry. Place an individual sheet of at the bottom of a laundry bag or hamper.

18. Deodorize shoes or sneakers. Place a sheet in your shoes or sneakers overnight.

19. Golfers put a sheet in their back pocket to keep the bees away.

20. Put a sheet in your sleeping bag and tent before folding and storing them. It will keep them smelling fresh.

21. Wet a sheet, hose down your car, and wipe lovebugs off easily.

Apply spray starch to walls around doorknobs and other places where fingerprints accumulate. The coating resists marks.

Multi - Use Items - Coffee Filters

Coffee filters are very inexpensive and can used for a number of things besides in the coffee maker.


- I use them as a snack holder.
- I have them in pots as a liner to prevent soil from
falling through.
- They can be used as a spoon rest.
- I have also used them to clean my glasses.
- My mom has used them with fingernail polish
remover when she was out of cotton balls.

Multi Use Items - Paper Clips

I can remember when the only kind of paper clip you could purchase was the silver ones. Now you can get them in all colors including gold and some are stripped. You can now find spiral and heartshaped paper clips HERE. Some scrapbookers even decorate paper clips with stickers and tags. HERE are some ideas.

I use paper clips often with my coupons and with work. Of course, they help keep things organized. I have also seen paper clips used for other things too. Here is a decorated Lampshade with Paperclips HERE and some people have used paper clips to create sculptures HERE.

Other uses for paperclips:

- my FIL used one as an antenna on an old radio

Multi - Use Items - Baby Wipes Container

Baby wipe containers are perfect storage containers. At first, I did not keep them but I did hate to throw them away. Now I save them and I found lots of great uses for these.

1) Storage containers for small toys
2) Crayon holder
3) Great for making your own First-Aid kit
4) Great for traveling to carry items for baby - powder, shampoo, lotion etc.
5) Store receipts
6) Ribbow Holder - You can pull the end of the ribbon through the top
7) Storage Containers for drawers just remove the lids
8) Plastic grocery bag holder - Just pull one through the top.

Multi-Use Items - Sheets

Extra sheets are a great item to have. I have used sheets to make no-sew window treatments, pillows, and tablecloths. If you are looking for a way to add something extra to a room, purchase or reuse a sheet that you already have along with no-sew tape and an iron. The possibilities are endless with what you can come up with.

Multi Uses for Alka-Seltzer

1) Deep-Clean Vases - Fill vase with water and drop in 2 of these baking soda-rich tablets. Let soak for an hour to remove stains you can't reach.

2) Clean Toilet - Drop a couple of tablets in the toilet bowl. 20 minutes later do a quick scrub.

3) Make an All-Purpose Cleaner - Drop three tablets in warm water. Use to clean countertops, tubs etc.

4) Unclog a Drain - Drop a couple of tablets into drain. Run hot water for a few seconds. Let it sit for a few minutes.

Mulit-Use Item - Aluminum Foil

Multiple Uses for Aluminum Foil


1) Iron quicker. Place between board and cover to iron bottom sides. Foil conducts heat.
2) Tie things up when cooking.
3) Scrub pots. If you are out of steel wool use a ball of aluminum foil.

Multi-Use Item - Business Cards

Just flip the card over and your have a sturdy card to use a label.

Mulit-Use Item - Salt

Besides using salt to cook with. There are other things salt can be used for.

1) Remove odors from your hands.

2) De-ice your steps or driveway.

3) Set tie-dye.

4) Scrub away kitchen grease stains.

Multi-Use Item - Lotion

1) Get rid of clothing static - Put a small amount on your hands and rub over your clothes or pantyhose.

2) Polish shoes - Buff with a cloth to shine.

3) Get rid of frizz - Spread a little on your fingertips to scrunch in hair.

4) Shave - Out of shaving cream use lotion instead.

Multi-Use Item - Plastic Cup

Punch holes in the bottom of a plastic cup to make a sifter to use. This will come in handy if you are wanting to sprinkle powdered sugar on top of a cake.

Multi-Use Item - Christmas Garland

Every year I hang garland on my mantle. This year I came up with a new thrifty tip. I needed some napkin rings. I didn't want to buy anything so I started going through some decorations that I did not use this year. I came across some extra garland. This is what I came up with.

I got out my wire cutters and cut a piece of garland off to wrap around the napkin.

Quench Parched Locks

To make a nutrient-packed hair mask, mash an overripe avocado and mix in an egg yolk and 2 Tbsp of Olive Oil. Massage into damp hair, wrap with a towel and leave on for 30 minutes. Rinse, shampoo and condition hair as usual.
