Ways I Earned/Saved Money This Week

- I read all of my MyPoints emails daily for my account and my husband's to add points to receive FREE gift cards.

- Cleaned out my coupon binder and filed away new coupons.

- Used my dishwasher only once this week.

- Printed a couple coupons to be used in the future.

- Requested a few FREE samples.

- Stuck to my menu plan. No eating out. 

- Continued to cut my dryer sheets in half to save.

- Entered Coke Reward Points, Pampers Rewards and Huggies Rewards points to each account for FREE gift cards, coupons and gifts.

Mega Swagbucks Day

If you haven't signed up with Swagbucks, you definitely need to. It is a great search engine where you can earn swagbucks every time you search. I average 20-30 swagbucks a day. You can also download the Swagbucks Toolbar and Swagbucks will give you FREE swagcodes occasionally.

You can redeem your swagbucks for great prizes. My favorite prize is Amazon gift cards. With 450 swagbucks you can earn a $5 Amazon gift card. I apply my gift cards to my Amazon account and save them to use at Christmas.

2015 is here!  I can't believe how fast 2014 flew by.  With a new year, people tend to set new goals or resolutions.  Along with many others, I plan to continue my goal of finding ways to simplify my life and finding new ways to save money throughout the new year.

Another popular goal or resolution that almost everyone tends to set each year is to improve their health by losing weight, eating healthier and exercising more.  Families are already relying on technology in their daily lives.  U. S. Cellular is happy to help people leverage the available technology to enhance and simplify their lives so they can enjoy better moments with family and friends over the New Year and all year long.   A recent survey found that more than one in four U. S. smarphone or tablet owners plan to use their smart mobile device to help them keep on track with their resolutions.  Now is a great time to review your smartphone.  Are you able to use your phone to help achieve your goal.  If not, maybe a new phone would be helpful.  U. - Getting organized is another popular resolution, and we all know how hard it can be. The Any.Do app is an award winner that’s perfect for enhancing any to-do list. The app allows you to create lists of tasks that need to be completed and organize them by category and importance. You can set alarms and also easily sync your tasks from your mobile to your desktop to help stay on top of any to-do list, no matter where you are.
 
- Many people resolve to see more of their family members throughout the year. The GroupMe app allows everyone in the family to stay in touch and make plans, no matter where in the country they are located. This app allows users to create several groups in which each member can share events, photos, videos and texts. 
 
- Saving money is a recurring resolution for many. According to a 2014 U.S. Cellular survey, 43 percent of smartphone users made the resolution to save money in 2014. In 2015, smartphone owners can accomplish this task with the Check app. The free app allows users to link bills, bank accounts and credit cards. The app then notifies users of when a payment is coming up and even lets users set up automatic payments.

Thrifty Tips to Stay Organized and Prepare for Your Taxes

At the beginning of every year, I always do 2 things to help me stay organized for the year.  The 1st thing is make me a folder for my taxes.  I pull everything out that I have saved throughout the year for my taxes and place it in the folder.  Then, I put this folder in a convenient spot so when something comes in the mail I can drop it in the folder until I am ready to do our taxes.

The second thing I do is update my bill paying binder.  I make a payment sheet for each month showing every bill and when the bill comes in the mail I can enter in the amount and when its due so that I can stay on budget and also make sure every bill is paid on time.  I DO NOT want to pay late fees.  I also clear out all the things that I no longer needed from the previous year.  This is where I store all bills, payment books, address labels, letter opener, and stamps.  When it is time to pay bills I can pull out my binder and I have everything I need.  I have used this method for 5 years now and it helps me stay organized and I always know where everything is.  Also, if my husband ever wants to see a bill he knows where to find it.

My New Favorite App - Walmart Savings Catcher

This has become one of my favorite apps.  If you shop at Walmart at all, then you need to try it out.   I downloaded this app at the end of December and I have already saved almost $5.

It is very simple to use.  Shop at Walmart.  Scan your the barcode at the bottom of your receipt.  Walmart's prices will be compared to your local retailers.  If the Savings Catcher finds a lower price, you will get the credit.

You can let your credits accumulate or cash it in in a Walmart eGift card to use toward an online purchase. 

I plan on letting my credits accumulate and use my Walmart eGift card at Christmas.
